IMPHAL, April 6: Demanding to intervene of release Khwairakpam ongbi Moirangthem Landhoni Devi who is presently detained in Guwahati jail under the NIA case no. 01/2010, the apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup, All Manipur womens social reformation and development samaj, Universal Mothers Organization, All Manipur Tammi Chingmi Apunba nupi lup along with Lukrakpam leikai, Amudon akham leikai, Khuraijam leikai apunba meira paibi lup today submitted a memorandum to state Chief Minister O. Ibobi Singh and sent a message to the union home minister said a spokesperson of the organisations during a protest against the detention of M Landhoni by the NIA during the sit in protest held at Tera Loukrakpam Leikai in Imphal west district.
Spokesperson further said that the submitted memorandum stated that M. Landhoni who has been arrested and implicated falsely and detained under NIA case No. 01/2010 under section 120(B),121(A)122 IPC and section 16,17,18 and 20 of UA (P) act 1967 as amended in act 35 of 2008.
He further said that Landhoni was arrested along with one Kh Jiten alias Khomba from Guwahati on the night of August 18, 2010, when they went to meet her husband and that Landhoni is a house wife not involved with any proscribe organization.
The spokesperson further mentioned that separation from her two child for about the past seven months has created a lot of suffering to her children and further mentioned that the hunger strike which Landhoni has proceeded with might be due to this separation from her child. The long seperation may even caused permanent disorientation to her eldest daughter who is presently suffering from mental depression.
The spokesperson further said that she was falsely and deliberately implicated in the case on the basis of a statement of one Amusana Devi who was also intimated for the purpose. Under the circumstances the release of Landhoni can be secured only by intervention of the state government through appropriate authorities.
The memorandum further stressed upon the government to take up necessary action in order to release M Landhoni at the earliest and save her two children from permanent disorientation.
Meanwhile Ima S Momon Leima, president of Tammi Chingmi, said that if the government of India remained indifferent to the demand of the united voice for the release of Landhoni, another June 18-type eruption is imminent for which the government would be solely responsible.
The Apunba Ima Lups further demanded the release of M Landhoni within 3 day and threatened that failure to meet with their demands will lead to launch of various agitations.
