IMPHAL, May 15: A blood donation camp was held today at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Science in the connection with the 9th Foundation Day of HERICOUN (Ethno Heritage Council) which will be celebrated tomorrow at Imphal.The blood donation camp which was jointly organised by HERICOUN and doctors of the hospital was equally participated by blood donors from both hill districts like Senapati, Chandel, Churachandpur and valley districts.While speaking to mediaperson HERICOUN vice president M Jadumani said that HERICOUN is a civil society organization working for the welfare of people of Manipur. Bloods donated by the donors from various districts will help the people living below poverty line and patients of other emergency cases.He further said that HERICOUN has been organizing blood donation camps since the last two years targeting to collect at least 50 units of blood from each camp for the needy people of the state and for emergencies. This year also the organization is targeting to collect 50 units of blood from around 100 persons during the camp. He also appealed to the general public to give support to HERICOUN towards bringing a peaceful society and a developed state.
