IMPHAL, Aug 6: The Naga students’ Union Chandel has expressed their concerned over the failure of state government to include additional English in the language II subject in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for candidates belonging to Anal, Amring, Lamkang, Monsang, Moyon, Chothe and Tarao whose languages are still not under the MIL.

A release of the union, while appreciating the initiative taken up by the state government for Teachers Eligibility Test (TET), under the Board of Secondary Education Manipur, has questioned the same as to why Additional English is not included in the Language II subject.

It has further mentioned that, the state government must first keep in mind that optional subjects recognized under MIL are Manipuri, Mizo, Kuki-Thadou, Tangkhul, Mao, Rongmei, Vaipgei etc and the majority inhabitants of Chandel are mainly Anal, Maring, Lamkang, Monsang, Moyon, Chothe and Tarao whose language are not under MIL.
