Police providing security to goods laden trucks along National Highway 37. Some 328 vehicles have arrived at the state capital this evenig pasing through NH-37.IMPHAL, August 17: Altogether 328 vehicles including passenger buses have been escorted to Imphal this evening from the National Highway-37, informed official sources. The vehicles included 12 petrol tankers, 9 diesel tankers, one Kerosene tanker and 11 LPG tankers, While, the remaining vehicles are reportedly trucks carrying essential commodities.
In the meantime, an escort team of Thoubal Police commandos was inflicted with damage when suspected strike supporters drop rock boulders from atop a hill in between K. Sinam and T. Laijang, however, no human casualty has been reported during the incident.
Meanwhile, owing to disturbances additional forces have been reportedly rushed to the area, said the sources.
