IMPHAL September 19: An inaugural function for institution of a technical committee for implementation of the inner line permit system in the state was held last Saturday at Imphal Hotel. The function was attended by retired Chief Justice Rk Manisana, FREINDS president Sapamcha Jadumani as the chief guest and president respectively. Retired judge Ch Upendra was the guest of honour. The chief guest in his speech stated the need for a technical committee as only through the concentrated endeavour, the committee can furnish a factual report for the need to implement the ILP. He further mentioned that unless the permit system is implemented, the indigenous population of the state will at last be in a minority status. President Jadumani mentioned that the committee was formed as part of the discussion held at the August assembly session regarding the ILP and that FREINDS instituted the technical committee so as to make the legislative session more technical and comprehensive.
