IMPHAL, Sept 3: The much hyped meeting of the leaders of Sadar Hills held today at the premises of HM Higher Secondary School, Keithelmanbi remained inconclusive.
Many have speculated that the Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) would soften its ongoing agitations. However, the meet has been deferred tomorrow wherein the leaders hinted that they could possibly draw a conclusion.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, spokesperson of SHDDC, Seikhothang Haokip said, “We are unable to spell out our resolution today as we were waiting for something and we have deferred the meting tomorrow where we will spell out our resolution”.
He further asserted that as announced earlier in Saikul meeting to spell out their stand within three days, the committee has decided to wait till tomorrow.
On being asked whether there is any possibility of suspending or relaxing their ongoing agitation, the spokesperson was reluctant to comment on it. He, however, responded that the issues discussed were based on their agitation but he said that he is not in the position to disclose anything today.
A final decision will be placed before the people through media tomorrow, he added.
The meeting started from 11 am and lasted till around 5:30 pm in the evening.
The meeting was attended by members of the ADC Sadar hills, village chiefs, executive members of SHDDC and various Kuki civil bodies.
