IMPHAL, December 31: “As an act of empowering women in the state, the Congress party will try to bring out at least three women candidates of the party for the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly election”, stated Chief Minister O Ibobi SIngh during a one day block level training programme cum political conference of Patsoi block Congress committee today.
The programme was organized by the Patsoi Block Congress Committee at the Takyel Kolom Leikai ground.
Further deliberating on the issue, the Chief Minister further stated that the party is considering bringing out Ak Mirabai of Patsoi a/c and Tilotama of Langthabal a/c as woman candidates.
Ak Mirabai has been defeated for three terms, and with it the Patsoi a/c has been left behind in development as compared to other constituencies. So the people of the area should elect a Congress MLA to bring development into the area.
He further stated that a Congress MLA could bring development to the a/c.
The programme was also attended by minister K Ranjit, MLA Y Surchandra, MLA O Landhoni as guests of honour.
The programme was presided by president Patsoi block Congress L Kumar.
