IMPHAL Dec 19: The JAC against the Brutal Killing of Soram Ibomcha and his son Soram Yaiphu has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister today, mentioning that the last rites of the two deceased will not be performed until the perpetrators of the crime have been booked.
A press release by N Shanta Singh, secretary of the JAC has stated that the gross ignorance of the PHED chief engineer in addressing the abduction issue had further led to the murder of the father and son. Thus, he is also to be blame and should resign from his post on moral ground otherwise the state government should terminate him from office, it said.
The concerned authorities should also take up necessary actions against the personnel of the state home department for failure to locate the victims even after a span of eight days had lapsed since their captivity.
In order to avoid similar occurrence, the Irilbung Water Supply Scheme should be relocated to another area.
The JAC also appealed that the government should initiate actions so that such gross violations of human rights do not occur in the area again and to provide for the well being of the remaining family members of the victims.
