IMPHAL, Jan 31: Former union minister and MPP leader Thounaojam Chaoba has said that the People’s Democratic Front is confident to form the next government in the state by capturing maximum number of seats from the valley region.

Speaking to media persons today at MPP head office, Chaoba stated that the PDF is willing to go with any non-Congress party to form a coalition government in the state.

The Congress Party would not be able to secure more than 10 seats in the valley region. They will face a big blow in this election, he asserted.

Chaoba further alleged the Congress candidate of Nambol assembly constituency N Loken of harassing people who had voted against him. Loken’s brother-in-law Oinam Inaoba along with sub-inspector Owen of Nambol police station have been threatening and framing false charges against the anti-Congress voters of Nambol.

He stated that the people have sealed the fate of the candidates and so it would be very undemocratic to harass people for not exercising their franchise in their favour.

Chaoba also denied the involvement of his security escort in the firing incident at the residence of one Congress worker.
