AMSU announces fees for state private schools

IMPHAL, Feb 4: The All Manipur Students Union after having minute deliberations with representatives of the All Manipur Recognized Private Schools Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) drew to a conclusion regarding the fee structure to be charged from students.

Briefing mediapersons at AMSU headquarters at DM college today, general secretary of the student body N Depanjit said that to check the fluctuations and exorbitant amounts charged from students by the private schools, AMSU had initiated a dialogue with members of the private schools representatives and have held a public hearing in the regard.

Depanjit further said that as per resolve taken with the private schools representatives, it was agreed to fix the admission charges and the monthly fees for all private schools coming under the purview of the AMRPSWA.

The private school will charge Rs 1000 as admission fee and Rs 200 for monthly tuition fees for nursery to kindergarten students, Rs 1500  and Rs 300 for the same for students from class 1 to 5, Rs 2000 and Rs 350 for students of class six to ten standard.

The norms will apply for private schools beginning from this month irrespective of CBSE or Manipuri Board and AMSU further appeals to parents to inform on mobile number 8575121936 if schools are found not implementing the new charges.

The meet was also attended by AMRPSWA advisor Doren Kha Ngangba.
