IMPHAL, Feb 3: In a move to enliven the Liangmai dialect and its culture, the Liangmai Writers Forum was formed today.
Prominent leaders and elders of the Liangmai community participated at the programme which was convened at Deulaland here. It dwelt at length about the richness and history of Liangmai literature.
Tamenglong College principal Namthiurai Daimai, Liangmai writers such as N Lunkingbou, K Daimai, Nampao, Dr K Pouchunbou, Adabou Abonmai and programme convenor Adibo shared their thoughts at the event.
At the end of the programme, the office bearers of the Liangmai Writers Forum announced. Adibo Newmei was named as its president and Aliulak as the vice-president. Namthiurai Daimai is its secretary and the joint secretaries are Wikamang Daimai and Witoubou Newmai. NK Siampoi will take charge as the forum’s treasurer.
