IMPHAL, Feb 18: Following the arrest of Ngangom Shanti Kumar , 26, son of Ng Rajen singh of Sekta mayai leikei, accused of rape and attempt to murder of Durga Devi at Muirei bus stand along Imphal – Ukhrul road yesterday, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) and Senapati public blew into protest demanding the Senapati Police to hand over the accused to the public.
Intensifying the clamour, the JAC alleged that the government is not paying heed to the demands of the JAC as mentioned in the memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister.
Talking to media persons,. Senapati SP Pushpanjali stated that the culprit will be given utmost penalty according to the law of the country.
