IMPHAL, Feb 4: A combined team of Imphal East and West commandos gunned down an UG suspect today at around 9 pm. The incident took place at Langthabal Phuramakhong. One pistol along with some live rounds were recovered from the possession of the slain individual. The identity of the person is yet to be ascertained and is kept at RIMS mortuary.
In another separate incident, at least 6 persons including four women were killed and 20 injured when a passenger bus fell down a ravine today evening. The incident occurred near Maram Khullen which is located nearly one km from NH 39 and comes under Mao police station. It is reported that the passengers were coming back from Makhel after casting their votes when the bus skidded off the road.
While in a hit and run incident which occurred between Kangpokpi to Changoubung at around 3 pm today, one person was killed and another seriously injures. The incident occurred when a Bolero jeep smashed into a two wheller. The rider identified as one Gigin of Nagaland succumbed at the spot and the pillion rider,one Chochon of Saikhul, Kangpokpi sustained serious injuries.The Bolero jeep is yet to be traced.
