IMPHAL, Feb 26: The United Revolutionary Front has announced a prohibition on military civic action and national integration tour programmes undertaken by Central forces and barred the public from participation in them warning of dire consequences in case they act in violation of its ban. It declared that putting an end to the military public-related programmes is the right of the people.

Those persons who are working with full vigor to assist the Indian army in organizing the integration tours by sending proposals and enlisting the children should refrain from continuing their activities, it warned in a press statement released by its secretary, information and publicity.

In order to support with reason its imposition against the MCA and NIT programmes, the militant front asserted that the intentions of the security forces are very doubtful. There is no reason to trust or have regards for them, who not only killed innocent people but outraged the modesty of our womenfolk time and time again, it stated.

Recounting the Sehlon incident where AR personnel were accused of unleashing terror against the villages, the note stated that the security personnel called themselves the friends of the hills but showed no mercy to the villagers.

The Indian army is an imperialist force and enemy of the public and public programmes like the MCA and NIT can not effectively wash away their true colors. They are not the authority of our land or social workers, as a result a close scrutiny of their activities is necessary, it added. Each of their steps and plans are meant to ruin the state and take their imperialist agenda one more stride forward, it stated

On the other hand, it released a stinging attack on the conduct of the state police asserting that the rank and files of the department are involved in amassing wealth, as evident from their multi-storied buildings, staging fake encounter and harassing innocent people instead of protecting the law.

The front has cautioned the people of Manipur to be beware of the savage behaviors of the ‘imperialist’ forces and the state police commandos, who, it claimed, are ready to compromise the lives of the common people to accomplish their nefarious agendas. It stated that people should strengthen the combat against fake encounters in order save the lives of the innocent people from the common mission of the state police and Indian army to carry out killing and tortures.
