KRA warns outsiders against interference during Saikul re-poll

IMPHAL, March 1 (Newmai News Network): Tightening the noose on proxy voters, the militant outfit Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) today urged the public not to allow outsiders to intrude and cast votes in the two polling stations under Saikul constituency under Sadar Hills in Senapati district, which will go to re-poll on March 4, where they are not belonged and warned that the outfit will take up action against those who try to commit illegal voting.

Re-poll will be held at Ekou Mullam and H. Champhai polling stations of Saikul constituency on March 4 as announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI), T. Simte, information and publicity secretary, KRA told Newmai News Network on Thursday.

On the re-polling day, no outsiders will be allowed to cast votes other than the legal electors, Simte asserted and said candidates should not also bring outsiders for proxy voting and that the public should stay away from such practices.

The KRA does not back any particular candidate but it is working to enable the people to exercise their franchise with fairness, he added.

The Kuki outfit has further warned that in ase the party finds anyone indulging in malpractices during the March 4 repoll, the outfit will take up swift action against him and the said person should hold himself as the sole responsibility.
