IMPHAL, Apr 30: Family today claimed the body of Nongthombam Bhubaneswor who died under mysterious circumstances in the early hours yesterday.
The family and JAC formed in connection with the death claimed his body after completion of autopsy at JNIMS.
Bhubaneswor, 38, was a mason, who had engaged in the construction work of Porompat Electricity Office building at Porompat in Imphal East.
Earlier, the JAC and his family had refused to take his body, saying that the culprits involved in the alleged murder of Bhubaneswor should be booked first.
However, they claimed the body on Monday following the contractor of the construction work and head mason assured them to pay Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin for the purpose of his last rites and ritual ceremonies.
