IMPHAL, May 30: The Ukhrul police has taken into custody two havildars and three riflemen of the 6th MR post at Jessami IB in connection with the missing AK 47 rifle today.
Mention may be made that an AK 47 rifle was found missing from the arms cot of the recently set up 6th Manipur Rifles post at Inspection Bugalow, Jessami, Ukhrul early May 24 morning.
The five will be produced before the CJM, Ukhrul tomorrow and shifted to the interrogation cell of the Imphal West SP office complex later in the day for further investigation.
A police source has identified the two Havildars as the Night Duty Officer and the Cot Naik when the incident happened.
