IMPHAL, May 12: Army’s Eastern Command chief Lieutenant General Bikram Singh arrived on a two day- visit to the State yesterday.
The General Officer was briefed at HQ IGAR (South), Mantripukhri by Major General UK Gurung IGAR(South) on the prevailing security situation in Manipur.
The Army Commander along with the GOC 3 Corps and IGAR (South) called on the state governor Gurbachan Jagat and Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh during the visit. They discussed the security environment of the State, according to statement of IGAR (S).
The GOC- in- Chief lauded the soldiers for ensuring peace and tranquility in the state and asked them to continue with the good work in a professional manner.
