IMPHAL, May 5: The All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (AZSU) and Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) have expressed unhappiness over the way the Meghalaya government has been dealing the case of James Todiuwang, a PhD student of NEHU who died under suspicious circumstances on March 17 last.
The powerful student bodies of Zeliangrong said in a statement strongly condemned the indifference of Meghalalya government to the case of James who died in a motorcycle accident occurred between NEHU Gate No-2 and No-3 on March 17 last.
They further said several student organizations in the past had submitted memorandums to the Meghalalya government demanding an impartial investigation into the death of James as the circumstances surrounding his death was suspicious.
The Meghalaya government as well as the Manipur government have shown impartialities when the people experienced seriousness of the two governments in the case of Richard Loitam and Dana Sangma, they accused.
The AZSU and ZYF also called upon the Meghalaya government to deal the case of James effectively and bring out the fact of his death.
