IMPHAL, May 30: In continuation of its annual campaign, the Royal Riders Manipur conducted a free medical camp at Yangkhulen and Bendramai villages in Senapati district from March 28 to 30.

The medical camp treated around 1000 villagers of the two villages including children and old. Students of Don Bosco School, Bendramai and Government Primary School were also treated during the camp.

A villager speaking to media persons lauded the efforts of the Royal Riders Manipur.

Welcoming the camp, she added that her village has a PHC however the doctors are seldom available at the CHC. Due to unavailability of doctors in the area, minor sicknesses are treated at the health centre while others are taken to Senapati for treatment.

Another villager while appreciating the gesture of the Royal Riders Manipur said the free medical camp has come at the best possible time as diarrhea, fever and other illness are very common amongst the children due to the weather.

A woman asked for polio drops to be administered to her one and half year old son; however the members did not have any.

The woman lamented that the polio immunization campaign had failed to reach her village this year, though it had reached Willow village. She continued that due to lack of transportation she could not go to Willow village.

The free medical camp was organised in connection with the World Environment day and was attended by 35 members of Royal Riders Manipur.

RRM President RK Tombisana told media persons that the RRM will continue to organise free medical camps in the interior parts of the state.
