IMPHAL, May 12: The insurgent group URF today strongly reacted against the killing of 3 persons, who had reportedly surrendered, by the 23 Assam Rifles in the Chadong village area of Mapithel hill range May 9 last.
The slain militant suspects were Laishram Nobin and Ningthoujam Imocha of Tumukhong Awang Leikai and Irungbam Roshan of Khagempalli.
The Geneva Convention does not allow killing of surrendered or civilians, it noted, adding that those who have close relations with the AR might have learnt a big lesson in the aftermath of the May 9 incident.
