Controversial goal ended the match in 27 minutes

IMPHAL, June 16: The first quarter final match of 1st W Sanahanbi Memorial Khudrakpam Kendra Football Tournament at Leitanpokpi ground between PJPC and UVA ended in 27 minutes, as UVA players walk away from the field protesting the referees’ decision in the third goal of the match.

During the match, UVA took the lead in 6th minute through a goal scored by N Babu but it was soon equalized by N Raju in 10th minute.

Later, in 27th minute of the match UVA players protested against the referees’ decision in the third goal, and walk away from the field. As a result, PJPC got into the semi-final.          

Meanwhile, PYC beat Pukhao Laipham 7-3 in the second quarterfinal match. Where, R Naobi contributed two goals in 10th and 31th, B Raju also contributed two goals in 14th and 24th, L Abung made an own goal in 15th, S Naocha and Kh Meiraba contributed one goal each for the PYC. Ch Dhananjoy scored all the three goal of Pukhao Laipham in 47th, 55th and 57th.

YSC will meet WFC in the 3rd quarterfinal and Boriyang will meet SCY in the last quarter final on Monday.
