Another drought cabinet on July 30

IMPHAL, July 26: Another cabinet meeting has been convened on July 30 to discuss the drought like situation in the state even as the state fumbles on the implementation of its decisions relating to drought.

Meanwhile, the Agriculture Minister Md Nashir had instructed officials of his department to oversee the rejuvenation of RLI stations in the state by the Minor Irrigation department.

According to information received from a high ranking official of the Agriculture Department, a meeting was held at the conference hall of the said department located at Sanjenthong on June 24.

The meeting was attended by Agriculture minister Md Abdul Nasir and other ranking officials of the department including District Level Officers.

The meeting reflected on the cabinet decision taken on July 20 and July 23.

It was further detailed that the District Level Officers will gather report of the affected agriculture land in the four valley districts. The Village Extension Officers will collect similar reports for the hill districts. The cumulative reports will be given to the Directorate tomorrow.

Further, the report will be handed over to the government authorities to be discussed yet again at a cabinet meeting scheduled on July 30.
