IMPHAL, July 3: Suspected militants of the banned KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) group reportedly hung a powerful Chinese made hand grenade at a grocery shop at Moirang Lamkhai in Bishnupur district.
Police said the shop is owned by one Ningthoujam Jayenta, 46, of Moirang Lamkhai. Jayenta is now under threat as he has been served a demand note of Rs 3 lakh by a militant organization believed to be the KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) group.
A police bomb squad rushed to the spot and retrieved the bomb which was found planting at the shop early morning.
