IMPHAL, July 25: Chief Minister of Manipur has conveyed his best wishes to the five Olympians of the state. Exuding firm confidence CM has stated that Manipur`s Olympians will return with Medals.
Five illustrious sportspersons of the state have made it to London Olympics commencing from July 27. They include Mary Kom (Boxing), L. Debendra (Boxing), L. Bombayla Devi (Archery), Ng Soniya (Weightlifting) and Kh. Kothajit Singh (Hockey). Recognizing their exceptional feat State Government has already announced a special Financial Assistance of Rs one lakh to each of these five Olympic qualifiers.
The Chief Minister has said that not only the people of state but the entire nation is keenly expecting outstanding performance from these sportspersons of Manipur state. Chief Minister has stated that people of Manipur hope and pray that “our boys and girls put up exceptional performance in the Olympic and make our state proud of its glorious tradition of sports”.
