IMPHAL, July 8: A house was complete burnt down at yumnam leikai awang leirak at around 11 am today. A non Manipuri person who repairs gas stove was called to repair regulator of the gas cylinder. A huge fire burst out of cylinder when fire was lit. The pressure from the cylinder was strong enough to burn down the one storeyed wooden building in 15 minutes when fire brigade rushed in to control the fire. When fire service left all they can save was a television set, a gas stove and 2 gas cylinders else everything was burnt in fire including their clothing, book, certificates, furniture etc. All the members of the two families were survived unhurt with only what they were wearing on. In the fire 15 to 20 lakhs worth were burnt.
Local MLA E Chand rushed to the spot to inspect and extend support to the family members of the house. He said he will jointly support and extend monetary help with the locals.
