IMPHAL, July 23: An accident claimed the life of a man at Utlou while leaving his wife with critical injuries at the ICU of Shija hospital. She was riding pillion on the Honda Activa he was driving.
The two has been identified as Laishangbam Bachao, 33 son of L Ibohal of Nambol Kabo Wakching and his wife identified as L (o) Sushini Devi, 30.
The incident happened this evening around 4:30pm along the Tiddim Road at Utlou, when the moped, the two were travelling on met with a head on collision with a Tata Winger coming from the opposite direction.
Sources informed that the husband was rushed to RIMS, however succumbed to injuries at RIMS. Sushini who suffered head injuries was moved from RIMS hospital to the Shija Hospital.
Meanwhile, the identity of the Winger cannot be ascertained till the filling of this report.
