IMPHAL, July 16: Commandos of District Police Thoubal on Sunday arrested a corporal of PLA namely Thokchom Rajkumar alias Julie alias Danial, 27, son of Th Ramo Singh of Heirok Part-II Bazar Maning Leikai at about 9:30 am during a search operation at Pallel Bazar area, said a police release.
According to the release, One 9 mm pistol loaded with two live rounds and one missed round of 9 mm ammunition in the magazine were recovered from his possession.
On questioning, the individual disclosed that he joined the banned organization in the year 2004 under army number 2635 and got basic training at Arunachal Pradesh and Burma border and presently holding the rank of corporal and working in Chagain Division, Taka village as a wireless operator under the command of s/s major Nonghou alias Ibomcha, it said.
