IMPHAL, July 26: The Manipur People’s Party today offered prayers for the success of the five Manipuri Olympians who are representing India at the London Olympics 2012.
Prayers were conducted by different religious priests. The priests were Rev SK Luwang for Christianity, Moulana Nazimudding for Islam, Th Radhamohon for Sanamahi and A Phoni Sharma for Hinduism.
President MPP S Umananda Singh congratulated the Manipuri Olympians for having qualified for the 30th London Olympics 2012.
He maintained that it is a matter of pride that five sportspersons out of 142 members of Indian contingent for London Olympic 2012 are from Manipur.
The MPP organized this prayer function for the success and good health of the five Manipuri Olympians. The emotional support of the people of Manipur is always with them, Umananda asserted.
