IMPHAL, July 26: The duty of every citizen is to safeguard the hard earned freedom and maintain the integrity of the country, stated Chief Minister Okram Ibobi during the observation of Kargil Diwas held at the Secretariat South Block, Imphal.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi recalled the valour and courage of the Indian soldiers who had boldly faced the Pakistani troops and militants who intruded into the Indian territory. The victory of Kargil War has been written in the golden words and it will not be forgotten by the Indians, he noted.
The observation was attended by home minister Gaikhangam and social welfare minister Ak Mirabai besides civil and police officials. However, no other minister and MLA attended the observation.
