IMPHAL, Aug 4: A woman was killed in a road accident today at around 7.30 am at Salang Lamkhai under Patsoi Police Station in Imphal West.
The deceased woman is identified as Meikambam Shanti, 33, wife of Sanatomba of Luker Maning Leikai under Patsoi Police Station.
She was hit by a school van bearing registration number MN-04 8751 while she was travelling on a bicycle.
Patsoi Police Station has registered a case regarding the incident. The dead body was later handed over to the family members after conducting postmortem examination at RIMS.
Meanwhile, the van involved in the accident has been seized by the police.
Another two persons were also killed in an accident today at around 6.20 near CI College in Bishnupur. The deceased persons are Haobijam Premjit, 30, son of H Biren of Khoijuman Maning Leikai and RK Sanjoysana, 26, son of Sharatchandra of Khoijuman Maning Makha Leikai.
They were killed in head-on collision of their Honda Activa with a Tata tipper.
