Manipur, IMPHAL, Aug 27: The dead body of Dougjapao was today handed over to family members after post mortem was conducted at the RIMS mortuary.
Dougjapao, 64 of Mualveng village, Churachandpur was injured when a police personnel of the Churachandpur Police fired from his service rifle during a reception ceremony of London Olympics Bronze medal winner MC Mary Kom at the Churachandpur Public ground, yesterday. He succumbed to his injuries on his way to the RIMS.
It may be mentioned that the constable who fired from his rifle and identified as Nangkhansuan son of Tuanggin had been taken into police custody.
On the other hand, an 18 year old woman was found dead this morning in her bed at 1st MR Family Line.
The woman has been identified as Tingaijao alias Ningyam Thangpao alias Bembem, 18 wife of Athokpam Naobi of Top Khongnangkhong at present staying at the 1st MR family line.
Police have filed a UD case regarding the incident, sources informed. Post mortem of the dead body was conducted at the RIMS mortuary; however the family is yet to pick up the dead body, till the filling of this report.
