IMPHAL, September 9: In the afermath of the present law and order situation in the state following two powerful IED explosions and several IEDs found planted in the state, an abandoned Honda Activa without registration number created panic amongst the locals of Moirangkhom opposite to the Heicham Yaichampat today.
Locals were alarm after the maroon coloured moped without registration number was found park in the area since early morning.
After the owner of the moped failed to turn up till around 1:30pm, the locals informed the police.
A bomb squad arrived soon after and halted traffic along the busy stretch of the Imphal-Moreh road for about 15 minutes.
On checking the vehicle, the bomb squad found the moped to be empty.
However, the Honda Activa has been picked up by Imphal Police for further verification.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the owner has failed to turn up till the filling of this report to claim the vehicle.
In another incident, a thermosat created panic at Kwakeithel Akham Leikai under Singjamei PS around 8am this morning. The thermosat was found in front of a shop since early morning.
Suspecting the thermosat to contain explosives a combined team of state police commandos and 18 Sikh Regiment cordoned off the area and
