Manipur,IMPHAL, September 19: State Chief Minister Okram Obobi Singh today visited the IT park located at Mantripukhri this evening to take stock of the work and instructed the concerned officials to complete the construction work within its stipulated time.
The Chief Minister was briefed on the implementation of the IT Park and its status.

The 27.12 acres IT Park would be developed in two phases. Over 2000 employments will be provided by the Park after completion.
The Park will feature IT Park Main Building, transformer and generator shed, gate house with security cabin, septic tanks, underground water tank, overhead tank, covered car parking, landscaping, deep tube well etc.
It may be noted that the setting up of IT Park at Mantripukhri under SPA funding was entrusted on a Turnkey basis to Software Parks of India, an autonomous Agency under the Department of IT, Govt of India in November 2008.
The Project is to be implemented in two phases – Phase I with total funding of Rs. 1000.00 lakhs and Phase II with total funding of Rs 2432.16 lakhs.
As per MOU signed between STPI Guwahati and Govt of Manipur in November, 2008, the project was to be completed within two years. The Project has been delayed due to prolonged economic blockade during 2011 and STPI has requested the Govt of Manipur for extension of completion period of Phase I to December 2012 and Phase II to December 2013.
The CM was accompanied by Chief Secretary Shri D.S. Poonia and Shr~Agarwal, Commissioner (Power, Agriculture, Eco & Stats) in his visit.
