Jangthailu gang rape case

IMPHAL, September 18: The chargesheet hearing against the four accused in the gang rape case of Jangthailu Kamei, 40, wife of Nagmsuaklung Kamei of Nungleiband of Tamenglong district under Khoupum police station started today at Session judge, Manipur West court at Uripok Cheirap Court complex.

The four accused who raped the victim at gun point includes Laikhuram Rajit, 25, son of L Tomba of Porompat, JNIMS Road, Opposite 3rd gate, Chungkham Ibomcha, alias Eigya, 37, son of Ch Shamu of Thongju Boroi Makhong, Haviladar no 11c-2007855 of 1st IRB, Salam Bijen, 34, son of S Gourababu of Uripok Sorbon Thingel and Ksh Kenedy, 33, son of Ksh Achou of Kongpal Chanam Leikai, R/no 0920001242 of 1st IRB.

The accused four involved in the rape case were kept in judicial custody as under trail prisoner by Bishnupur police station and registered a case FIR no 32 (3) 2012 BPR PS U/S 326/384/376/511/34 IPC and 25 (I-C) Arms Act.

The chargesheet submitted by the Bishnupur district police charged the accused four of forcibly raping a schedule caste/schedule tribe victim at gun point.

Mention may be made, the accused four were earlier brought to the court on September 4, however, deferred on request by the counsel on behalf of the accused.
