Manipur,IMPHAL, September 12: This is not the time to ponder the past and recalling those grievous days which is casting shame on our face, a joint statement issued by three Kuki organisation stated and added, after looking the pros and cons and for better understanding, it is time to think for greater and higher objectives for a healthy and wealthy society.
The joint statement issued by David Haokip, general secretary, United Kuki Liberation Front, UKLF, Kamkhenpau, president, ZDV and Robinson Thadou, KRA (U), stated this is the time to focus on peace, education, welfare and communal harmony so that the past is not repeated and better future prevails.
Those who advocate the observance of the day may find many excuses to justify it but the end result would not be good for anybody, the joint statment said and added, this is against the true spirit of Christianity.
It further appealed to all Kuki community those who favour the observance of the day as Kuki black day to discontinue it for better and larger interest of the society.
