IMPHAL, September 12: Out of the 1516 polling stations announced for the September 13 Gram Panchayat election in four districts of the state, 575 have been announced as hyper sensitive, 285 as sensitive and 432 as normal polling stations (excluding Bishnupur district).
The data of Bishnupur district was not available till late in the evening except that there will be 219 polling stations in the districts.
Out of the three districts (of which data are available) where the 4th local body election will be conducted tomorrow, Thoubal district has the most number of hyper-sensitive stations.
All 480 polling stations of Thoubal have been identified as hyper-sensitive.
Out of 490 polling stations in Imphal East including Jiribam ADC, 87 have been identified as hyper sensitive, 237 as sensitive and 161 s normal polling stations.
Out of 327 polling stations, only 8 have been declared as hyper-sensitive, 48 as sensitive and 271 as normal polling stations.
A total of 9096 polling personnel will be deployed in the 1516 polling stations during the election.
Each polling station will have one presiding officer, four polling officers and a polling peon. 30 police personnel including Manipur Rifle, VDF and commandos will be deployed at each polling station.
Polling will open from 7am till 4pm in all polling stations.
It may be mentioned that there are 97 uncontested candidates for Gram Panchayat constituency member, while both the Gram Panchayat and the Zilla Parishad have one uncontested candidate each.
231 candidates will fight out for 60 Zilla Parishad seats, 595 candidates will contest for 161 Gram Panchayat seats while 3794 candidates will fight out for 1514 Gram Panchayat member seats.
Counting of votes for the 4th Gram Panchayat Election will be held on September 17 at their respective districts.
Meanwhile, according to press statement of the DIPR, the Bishnupur district magistrate has imposed CRPC 144 in and around several polling stations of the district for the smooth conduct of the election.
