IMPHAL, Sept 9: The Revolutionary People’s Front has claimed its hand in the bomb attack which occurred this morning at around 5.58 am at Kangsoibi Khong canal under Bishnupur police station.
A release by T Leishemba, publicity secretary of the outfit mentions that the attack was carried out under instructions of the PLA (GHQ). It said that the explosive used was powerful and is believed that there must have been at least four fatalities on the side of the Assam Rifles while injuring several.
The operation was planned in detail to avoid civilian casualties, but the outfit is determined to carry out further attacks. It may result in collateral damage as the security forces may train their weapons on the civilian population.
A lesson must have been learnt by the security forces and they will be paranoid in walking the streets and coming towards any overgrown vegetation.The population of the security forces will be decimated as time progress, the outfit warns.
The release appeals the public not to be in the vicinity of security forces.
