IMPHAL, Sept 18: Several Zeliangrong bodies have come out strongly against the NSCN (IM) for a statement on the killing of a ZYF (AMN) office bearer allegedly by NSCN (K) cadres.
A joint statement signed by AZSU (AMN), president, ZYF (AMN), president and ZSUM, chairman has said, “When the Zeliangrong people are finding hard to mentally recuperating from the psychological trauma suffered due to the killing of Chunthuigai Kamei a leader of ZSUM by the cadre ofNSCN (K) Zeliangrong region, the press statement issued by one Aduan Pamei, CAO of Zeilad, Zeliangrong region of GPRN (NSCN-IM) which appeared under caption ” NSCN IM on killing of Chunthuigai Kamei” is a psychological intimidation.”
It has further said that the statement carries a motive of ill intention which is very much unfortunate.
“The underground organization engaged in peace talk with the government issuing such irresponsible statement which is intimidating in nature shows lack of maturity and concern for peaceful environment in the Zeliangrong areas”, it said.
It further continued that the affairs of the Zeliangrong people solely depends on the wisdom of the Zeliangrong community, therefore, any underground organizations should not interfere into the tribe affairs.
The public decisions or resolutions taken by the people are for their security, wellbeing and betterment of their community and as such not related in any manner to any underground organizations.
There is no logical reason for any underground organizations to implement the public resolutions but the people will carry out the decisions and resolutions as and when the necessity arise, it said.
“The Zeliangrong people have almost identified the presence of some self-styled and doubtful public leaders using the platform of unpopular organizations but who act for their personal benefit purposes. The instigation of these persons with their intention to weaken the entire society for their selfish motive has become evident.”
“It is because of such person’s presence in the society that the Zeliangrong community is shattered into different opinions even in the gravest situation.”
It continued that the All Zeliangrong Students` Union, AZSU, the Zeliangrong Youth Front, ZYF and the Zeliangrong Students` Union, Manipur, ZSUM appeal the Zeliangrong people in particular and other Naga communities in general to cooperate and extend support in the efforts of the Zeliangrong people for return of normalcy in their areas.
