Manipur Police celebrates its 120 Raising Day

IMPHAL, October 18: “The police-public relation is very important aspect of modern day policing, and public should feel safe and secure when they see the police personnel”, said Chief Minister Okram Ibobi during the celebration of the 120th Raising Day anniversary function of Manipur Police held today at 1st MR parade ground, Imphal.

Surprisingly the state Home Minister Gaikhangam was absent at the function today. When queried, his aides said the Home Minister is not well.

As the chief guest of the function, the Chief Minster said that police personnel should be extremely cautious while dealing action under law.

He also lauded the efforts and roles of the Manipur police force in the combating the various threats to internal security. He then added that Manipur police force is reckoned as the best police force in the country and earned a great reputation in dealing with complex affairs of the state.

During the function, the DGP commendation awards and disc for excellence performance in counter insurgency operation and the law and order duties were given to 97 police officers. During the function,

DGP Joykumar urged the police person to be more professional and to carry out their duties with upmost devotion, courage and conviction.

The anniversary function was attended the speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Ministers, MP, Parliamentary Secretaries, and high-ranking civil and police officer of the state.
