IMPHAL, October 11: The chairman of the outlawed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) RK Meghen alias Sanayaima will be produced before a National Investigation Agency, NIA court located at Guwahati tomorrow.
Sanayaima and 17 others of the outfit are currently held under judicial custody by the NIA since December 4 , 2010 on charges of waging a war against the Indian Government and charged under Indian Penal Code, IPC section 120 (B), 121, 121 (A) 122 & 16, 17, 18, 18(A), 18(B) & 20 outlawed activities prevention act, 1967 as amended in 2004.
IFP sources in Guwahati said, Sanayaima was earlier brought to the NIA court on September 28 for hearing, however, the UNLF chairman was further remanded to judicial custody after signing a physical appearance after the Judge of the court went absent for the day.
Sanayaima will be produced in NIA court tomorrow, October 12 at 11:30 am for chargesheet hearing. Senior Advocate M Gunadhor will act and represent Sanayaima during the hearing, sources added.
Mention may be made, Sanayaima was first heard arrested by a Bangladesh agencies and handed over to its Indian counterpart security agency on September 29, 2010.
Later again, the Government of India stated Sanayaima was arrested from a place called Motihari in Bihar by the National Investigation Authority, NIA and labelled as “Manipur outlawed organisation United Liberation Front, UNLF chairman RK Meghen alias Sanayaima” will be produced at an NIA court tomorrow at Guwahati, the captial city of Assam in the north east of India.
