IMPHAL, October 11: A felicitation function of the newly appointed Parliamentary Secretary of Youth Affairs and Sports, M Prithiviraj was held today at the Olympic Bhawan, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex organized by Celebrity Media Group (CMG) and Presto Wonders Imphal.
The function was also attended by H Deelip Singh, Special Secretary, YAS.
During an interaction with media persons, M Prithiviraj expressed his happiness with the appointment as Parliamentary Secretary in YAC as it matches with his interest.
The sports scenario in India is transforming positively. India was able to win three medals at the Beijing Olympic Games but it was increase to six medals in the London Olympic Games 2012, which is a clear example of growth in Sports, he said.
Manipuri players should aim for more medals in the coming Olympic Games. Five players of the state have participated at the London Olympic Games and in the coming Olympic Games we should aim for more, he further said.
There is a need for developing more play grounds in the state as without proper platform many talented players will suffer for sure, he said.
The Chief Minister has been giving special attention in Sports sector and he will continue for sure. There are also many development plans underway and a seminar will be organized soon, he added.
M Prithibiraj was presented with simple gifts at the function by Celebrity Media Group and Presto Wonders.
