IMPHAL, October 29: As an ongoing activities taken up by Youth Partnership Platform (YPP), a one day state level workshop on the youth’s services was held today at the conference hall of Hotel Nirmala, Thangal Bazar.
Social Awareness Service Organization (SASO) is an NGO working in the field of drug users and HIV/AIDS in Manipur since 1991. Further recognizing needs of sexual and reproductive health issues of the youths; SASO in partnership with India HIV/AIDS Alliance is implementing a project “Community Action for Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights policies in Asia shortly termed as Action Project” in February, 2010 which is supported by European Commission (EC).
SASO is implementing in two districts of Manipur with two implementing partner NGOs, Future Development Drug Users Organization (FDDUO) in Imphal West and Awaken Artisan Shelter Association (AASHA) in Imphal East.
One of the significant achievements of the Action project was to get inclusion of SRHR in State PIP 2010-2012 a pilot study on Youth Friendly Health Services in the districts of Imphal East and Imphal West.
Youth Partnership Platform (YPP), a state level platform for equal exchange of constructive dialogues and information sharing between young people, especially the marginalized communities, and decision makers, was constituted under the initiative of SASO.
