IMPHAL, November 6: The dead body of Hijam Babu was handed over to family members after post mortem was conducted today at the RIMS.
Babu’s dead body was found yesterday morning near the Lunghar village, Ukhrul district. Locals had claimed that he was picked up by police commandos from his locality on November 2.
Meanwhile, family members today said that the hunting boot which was found on Babu’s feet are not his and that he was wearing sandals when he was picked up by suspected police commandos on November 2.
The proscribed outfit RPF has claimed in a press release Hijam Babu whose dead body was found from near Lunghar village, Ukhrul was picked up by a combined team of Imphal East cdo and 28 Assam Rifles on November 2 around 7pm from Andro Kharam Leikai.
The release continued that Babu was later killed in secrecy and later the dead body was dump at Ukhrul.
The incident smacks of state sponsored terrorist in the land, it said.
