State non-Congress party highlight state issue to central leader

IMPHAL, November 9: Seven political parties today conveyed a joint press conference at the office of the Janata Dal (United) at Babupara on the issue of a state political parties delegate recent meeting with national senior political leaders at New Delhi and a memorandum submitted to JD(U) president Sharad Yadav to be handed over to the Lok Shaba Speaker Meira Kumari on the Manipur Assembly issue.

The political parties that convey the press conference were MPP, CPI, CPI (m), BJP, and JD(U)

Speaking at the press conference, CPI Manipur state council president M Nara said that on November 5, a delegate of the non political parties of the state met national political parties senior leaders and discussed several issue of the state like the Manipur Assembly issue, K-Pro Loktak scam, ILP issue, Social Welfare department misusing funds and AFSPA in the state.

Regarding the Manipur Assembly issue, the team submitted a memorandum addressed to the Lok Shaba Speaker Meira Kumari through JD(U) president Sharad Yadav as the Speaker is out of the country which he will hand over to her when she came back.

He further said that JD(U) president also assured to the state delegate that he will personally write a letter to the Prime Minister regarding the issues of the state and also assured that they will take up the issues of the state by the opposition parties along with the NDA in the upcoming parliament winter session.

Regarding the comment made by the Union Minister on the ILP issue, he did not appreciate it, he said.

About the Indo Naga peace talk, the JD(U) leader said that it is good to have peace talk for the better cause of the society. But warn that if any agenda comes up in the talk which could hurt the sentiment of the other communities and to the territorial integrity of the state then all the opposition political parties in the centre will raise voice against the peace talk, he said.

JD(U) president of the state N Tombi said Manipur today is a land full of corruption, he described Manipur State Assembly as place of corruption and Manipur as a killing field in last few year lots of innocent people have been killed in the name of counter insurgency by the state police and central force behind the AFSPA as not a single case has been taken up by the state government to punishment the guilty police personal and give justice to the victim family, he said.

He further said that even though AFSPA has been repealed from seven assembly segment of the state, police do not issue arrest memo while arresting someone from the area and AFSPA is a total violence of the human right and further asked why state government being a silent over the issue.

MPP president Sanasam Umananda said that as the state territorial integrity is in danger even at this time state government is not doing and keep themselves busy indulge in the corruption in every section where they can get.

He further said that it is important to implement the ILP in the state at the earliest to save the indigenous people of the state before the outsider outnumber the indigenous people; and added that for the state, the seven political parties will stand together to fight against it and for the welfare of the state.

The central political leaders met by the team of Manipur delegate are CPI (M) leader AB Vardhan leader of CPI Gurudas Das Gupta, Trinamool Congress leader Nilotpal Basu, opposition leader and Sushma Swaraj, Janata Dal (U) president Sharat Yadav.
