IMPHAL, Dec 15: A timber loaded truck met an accident at Leirongthel Pitra under Yairipok Police Station today at around 12.45 pm leaving one dead and another critical injured, when the timber felt on the two.
The deceased has been identified as Sanasam Lokendro, 45, son of S Ibocha, a resident of Yairipok Nungaipokpi.
He succumbed to his injuries at Raj Polyclinic at around 5 pm today.
The other injured person has been identified as Lokendro’s brother-in-law Sougrakpam Tombi, 58, son of late Mukta, a resident of Nungaipokpi.
He is now under treatment at the ICU of Shija hospital due to critical injuries.
Lokendro’s body was handed over to his family members after a post mortem was conducted at JNIMS morgue.
Meanwhile, family members of Thongam Romeo, 28, who was found hanging at Thoubal Athokpam yesterday, collected the latter’s body today from JNIMS morgue.
