JAC submits memo to the CM

IMPHAL, December 30: Locals of the Lilong Turel Ahanbi formed a JAC against the alleged brutal killing of Md Abdul Hakim by unknown person in the early morning of 24 December near the pump house of the locality. The JAC today take out a rally starting from the Lilong Haoriebi Turel Ahanbi Indega ground and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through K Meghachandra, SDPO Thoubal at Lilong police station today noon.

The memorandum demanded for swift action to be taken up by the state government against the culprits behind the and that the investigation should be done by police personal not less than that of a DSP level. 

It further said that if the government failed to give a positive response of the demand then from 1 January 2013, the  JAC along with the other civil society organizations of the state will launch other forms of agitation including an indefinite bandh on National Highway number 2 which will start from  2 January 5 am onwards.

The rally started from the Indega ground and marched towards the Lilong police station and was taken part by children and women of the locality. After police personal prevented the rally from further going towards Imphal, some of the JAC members were allowed to submit a memorandum to the SDPO Thoubal.

Speaking to media persons one JAC member said that SDPO had told the JAC members that four people accused in the killing of Abdul Hakim is in their custody and a investigation is going on though the main accused Md Abbas of Thoubal Moijing is still absconding after he escaped from JNIMS hospital on 23 December.

The others who are currently in police custody have been identified as Md Ayub Khan( 26) son of Kayammuddin of Lilong Turel Ahanbi Ubakthong Makha ,Md Nazir (33) son of (L) Fajur Rahaman of Lilong Turel Ahanbi, Md Islam Rehaman of Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi  Dam Manak and Md Monowar (38) son of (L) Abdul Karim of the same locality.
