Seized drugs disposed off before CJM Thoubal

IMPHAL, Dec 20: The Thoubal police disposed off Pseudoephedrine tablets worth around Rs 20 crore seized during different operations at around 12:30pm today, under an order of CJM Thoubal Noutuneshwari.

According to the police, the disposed tablets were from five cases registered with the Kakching Police Station.

The tablets include 46, 495 strips (10 Tablet per strip) of FIR No 125 (7) 2012 Kakching PS U/S 21/29 ND & PS act, 2190 strips of  FIR No 127 (7) 2012 Kakching PS U/S 21/29 ND & PS act, 1,77,717 strips of FIR no 153 (8) 2012 Kakching PS U/S 21/29 ND & PS act, 9,000 strips of FIR no 188 (10) 2012 Kakching PS u/s 21/29 ND & PS act and 1,67,450 strips of FIR No 216 (10) 2012 Kakching PS u/s 21/29 ND & PS act, police said.

The total number of tablets disposed was 4, 02, 852 strips (40, 28, 520 tablets) and it is worth approximately Rs 15 crore in the domestic market and approximately Rs 20 crore in the international market, police said.

The tablets were disposed according to an order of CJM Thoubal Noutuneshwari.

The drugs were burnt in the presence of CJM Thoubal and Superintendent of Police, Thoubal.
