IMPHAL, Dec 15: A press note from Women Action for Development (WAD) has expressed its appreciation of Ministers including the Deputy Chief Minister Shri Gaikhangnam and Social Welfare Minister, Kumari AK Mirabai Devi; Government officials and Departments, district heads and Police personnel, representatives of various Civil Society groups, academics, delegates and invitees who have been a part of marking the observation of the Fortnight Observation protesting Violence against commenced from 25th November to 13th December 2012. It further appreciated all media persons who had given coverage of issues related to the theme and covered the observation. The recently concluded Sangai Tourism Festival held in the state organized by the Tourism Department had also given a platform to host various forms of campaigns on the theme of protesting violence against women it said, for which WAD was thankful.
