IMPHAL, January 12: Two dead bodies were found this morning at separate places, one near Pologround under city police station and another, at Tendongyan under Sekmai police station.
The person whose dead body was found near the Pologround has been identified as Puyam Dhabalo (70) of Langthel Mamang Leikai. He is said to have left home yesterday around 11 am to visit his daughter at Kwakeithel. The cause of his death is suspected to be due to the cold, after lying drunk for several hours in the cold. A case has been registered at City police station and the dead body was handed over to his family after a post mortem was conducted at RIMS.
The other person whose dead body was found at Tendongyan near Madhumangol Stone Crusher has been identified as Naorem Ibomcha (45) of Tenthakhujao. He was working at KPS Brick Field. A half filled alcohol bottle was found near his body. The dead body was picked up by the police and has been deposited at RIMS.
Meanwhile, another injured person in yesterday’s Winger and Tata Canter accident along Imphal-Tiddim road, which had claimed two lives with several people injured succumbed to his injuries today at Shija hospital. The deceased has been identified as Thangminlal Mate (28) son of Limkhopao Mate of Urengpat village, Senapati district. The dead body was handed over to his family members today after a post mortem was conducted at RIMS.
NNN adds: 13 people were injured when the Shaktiman truck they were traveling met with an accident last night in Churachandpur district.
Reports said the truck (registration number MN02A-7373) met with the accident between Ngaloi Hill and T Bazar, which is just 7 km away from Churachandpur police station at around 9:30 pm. Altogether 20 occupants were there in the vehicle. The truck reportedly dashed on a road side rock. It was suspected that the cause of the truck might me due to brake problem. Meanwhile, all the injured have been admitted Churachandpur district hiospital.
